A prospective liquid waste hauler shall submit the completed PDEQ Liquid Waste Hauler Business Application to:

Once received, the liquid waste hauler will be contacted to schedule a mutually convenient inspection time. Once the vehicle(s) are inspected and approved, an invoice will be sent to the business owner. The yearly permit fees are as follows: $90.00 for the annual liquid waste transporter business permit and $46.00 per vehicle (annual) for the liquid waste vehicle permit.

An Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Application for a Septic Tank Cleaner (Pumper) License will be provided to the business owner prior to or during the first routine inspection. PDEQ will forward the completed application to ADEQ for issuance of a permanent, non-transferable vehicle license number. Once received, this ADEQ license number needs to be posted on the rear face of the tank and both side door panels in three-inch high numbers.

Solid Waste Haulers

Once received, the waste collector will be contacted to schedule a mutually convenient inspection time. Once the vehicle(s) are inspected and approved, an invoice will be sent to the business owner. The yearly permit fees are as follows: $162.00 for the solid waste transporter business permit and $79.00 per vehicle (annually) for the solid waste vehicle permit.

In accordance with § 7.25.140 of the Pima County Code (Title 7), all solid waste haulers are required to submit a recycling service report at the end of each quarter to PDEQ. A Quarterly Recycling Service Report will be sent to each solid waste hauler at the end of each quarter. It should be filled out, even if the business does not offer recycling. In addition to reporting recycling information on a quarterly basis, solid waste haulers are also required to pay a one-dollar per residential customer fee each year. Since this fee is paid quarterly, that equates to a $0.25 charge per residential customer, per quarter. To determine the amount that must be paid, multiply the total number of residential customers receiving refuse collection by 25 cents. An invoice will be sent for this amount after PDEQ receives your Quarterly Recycling Service Report. The Quarterly Recycling Service Reports are mailed out at the end of each quarter. The due date is indicated on the cover letter that accompanies the Report.
