  • Class III Permits

    Air quality operating permits are issued pursuant to the requirements of Pima County Code (PCC) Title 17 Section 17.12.140(B) and include Class I Permits, Class II Permits, and Class III Permits (issued to sources described below). PDEQ also issues General Permits pursuant to PCC Title 17 Section 17.13.080.

    Class III Sources Include:

    • Any source that has the potential to emit, without controls, significant quantities of regulated air pollutants.
    • Stationary rotating machinery of greater than 325 brake horsepower.
    • Fuel-burning equipment which, at a location or property other than a one or two family residence, are fired at a sustained rate of more than one million BTU per hour for more than an eight hour period.
