  • Fort Lowell and Houghton Road Intersection Improvement Project

    Houghton and Ft. Lowell Intersection
    Project Cost to Date: $882,939
    Project Status: Under Construction
    Completion Date: May  2023
    Engineer/Contractor: Southern Arizona Paving Company 

    The Pima County Department of Transportation along with their contractor, Southern Arizona Paving Company, will begin the realignment construction project of Fort Lowell Road and Houghton Road. The Contractor will begin mobilizing equipment February 6, 2023. 

    The project includes widening a half-mile of Houghton Road to add new turn lanes and reconstructing 450 feet of Fort Lowell Road to realign the roadway and remove the existing intersection offset. Signing and striping improvements will be minimal.

    This project is expected to be completed by May 1, 2023. The hours of operation will be from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
