Admit Responsibility and Pay by Mail or In Person

You may pay your fine by mail for Civil Traffic moving violations only.  If you were cited for a non-moving civil traffic violation or a criminal traffic violation you must appear in court on your arraignment date.

All civil penalties are due in full on or before the scheduled appearance date.  If you do not pay your penalty in full on or before the scheduled court date, you must request a time payment plan. There is a $20.00 time payment fee added to all fines and penalties not paid in full on the same day they are imposed.

NOTE:  The Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) will require you to attend Traffic Survival School (TSS) if you plead responsible for Red Light Violation(s) or for any moving violation if under age 18 (1st offense).  If you are eligible for Defensive Driving School and complete the class, the violation will be dismissed and MVD will not require you to attend TSS.

How to Pay by Mail

To pay your fine by mail, you MUST pay the entire fine and do so prior to the appearance date indicated on the bottom right hand corner of your complaint.  Upon receiving your complaint, you should have received an envelope that contained a bond card providing instruction about paying your fine by mail.

In order to properly pay your fine by mail, please follow these steps:

  • In the middle section of your complaint, locate the "Section" area (example: A.R.S. 28-701a) of the complaint.  This will give you the information to locate your fine amount.  On your bond card, locate the A.R.S code that will contain the amount that you owe to the court.  If the code does not exist on the bond card, you will need to appear on your court date.
  • Once you have located the fine amount, please fill out the portion of the bond card that states "I wish to plead responsible" as requested.
  • Submit a check, money order or cashier's check (Made payable to Green Valley Justice Court) along with the form listed above, in the envelope provided to you.  DO NOT SEND CASH.  Along with the check, please provide the court a copy of the complaint or write the  complaint number on the memo part of the check and return in the envelope provided to you with the bond card.  (NOTE: A $25.00 NSF fee will be assessed to any checks returned for non-sufficient funds. )

Pay in Person

You may appear on your scheduled court date and pay the civil penalty. The clerk will take your payment and issue a receipt.

FAILURE TO APPEAR OR PAY WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES

Failure to appear will result in an admission of responsibility and judgment will be entered for the State. The court will report the failure to appear to MVD and direct that your license be suspended and remain suspended until the civil penalty is paid in full. A $20.00 time payment fee and a $50.00 default fee will be added to the total due.
