    Pima County, Ariz. (Feb. 4) – On Wednesday, February 5, through Friday, February 21, 2014, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., the Pima County Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation Authority, and their contractor, KE&G Construction Inc., will be working on the drainage structure at the intersection of Wilmot Road and Valencia Road.

    Traffic will be reduced to one lane of travel for southbound Wilmot Road at the Valencia intersection and will be directed through the construction zone by flagmen. Project Scope The project improvements will include the widening of Valencia Road to six travel lanes, widening the bridge structure over the Union Pacific Railroad, paved shoulders for bicycles, a multi-use path at Julian Wash, curbs and storm drains, landscaped median and public art. The project is expected to be completed by summer of 2015.

    Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.

    In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.

    The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is the fiscal manager of the $2.1 billion plan approved by Pima County voters on May 16, 2006. The RTA Board is comprised of representatives from local jurisdictions in Pima County, including the cities of Tucson and South Tucson, Pima County, the towns of Marana, Oro Valley, and Sahuarita, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and the Tohono O’odham Nation.
