  • Road Construction on Various Streets Starting April 29

    Pavement PreservationStarting Thursday, April 29, Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, Granite Construction Co Inc., will begin paving operations at the following locations:

    Thursday, April 29 through Friday, April 30, between the nighttime hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., the following roads will be milled and paved:

    • Veterans Street from Palo Verde Road to Richey Boulevard
    • 47th Street from Richey Boulevard to Dodge Boulevard
    • Chrysler Avenue from 47th Street to Refinery Way
    • Refinery Way from end of road to Dodge Boulevard

    Monday, May 3, between the daytime hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., the following roads will be milled and paved:

    • Olympia Stravenue from Irvington Road to Alvernon Way
    • Felix Boulevard from Palo Verde Road to west of Lansing Stravenue

    The work will include preparation work, milling and replacing the existing pavement in both directions and temporary striping. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times.

    Minor delays may occur during this work. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.

    In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.

    In Fiscal Year 2020/2021, the Pima County Board of Supervisors and Transportation Department allocated $56 million in road repair and preservation funding for the Road Repair and Preservation Program.
