Pima County will partner with Perimeter Bicycling Association of America Sept. 21 for “Loop de Loop,” a free celebration along the Chuck Huckelberry Loop that kicks off the 60-day 2019 El Tour de Tucson season

Loop de Loop will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. along the Rillito, Santa Cruz and Pantano River Parks and the Julian Wash Greenway. While on The Loop, cyclists and others can meet with Loop the Loopmany of the non-profit organizations who will benefit from the 37th El Tour, sponsored by Banner University Medicine and taking place Nov. 23. At seven stations along The Loop, participants can collect tickets, which enter them to win prizes drawn at a post-ride party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ramada Tucson, 777 W. Cushing St.

Pima County will have a strong presence at the celebration. Friends of Pima Animal Care Center plan to sign up riders for their team at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. The Loop Store  will sell jerseys and other gear at the post-event celebration at the Ramada Tucson. And representatives from the County’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program will also be on hand at the Ramada with maps and other information.

The stops along the Loop are: Ted Walker Park, Rillito Park Race Track, Brandi Fenton Park, Michael Perry Park, Roy Schoonover Trailhead, Augie Acuna Los Niños Neighborhood Park and Julian Wash Archaeological Park.
