    Chronic Disease Prevention

    The Tobacco and Chronic Disease Prevention Program develops partnerships and collaborations to promote a comprehensive approach to address tobacco and chronic disease.

    Community Nutrition Programs

    Community Nutrition Programs, WIC and FOOD Plus, promote healthy eating habits for pregnant women, new moms, infants, children, and seniors. Services are provided at several locations throughout Pima County. Information on getting started with WIC & FOOD Plus.

    Oral Health (Dental)

    Pima County Health Department's Oral Health Program provides dental sealants in selected schools. The program is free of charge through funding from the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Oral Health.

    Disease Control

    Disease Control works to reduce the incidence of disease morbidity (illness) and mortality (death) in Pima County.

    Home Visits and Nursing Referrals

    Public Health Nurses (PHN) make visits to individuals and families, ranging in age from newborn through the elderly. 

    Immunizations

    Immunizations for children birth through age 18, and adults.

    Library Nurse Program

    Public Health Nurses provide basic health services in several Pima County Public Libraries.

    Men’s Health

    Male services include education about preventing and managing chronic health problems, smoking cessation, condom supplies, information and counseling, sexually transmitted disease information and education.

    Teen Health

    Teen services including condom supplies, emergency contraception pills, pregnancy testing, pelvic exams, pap smears, sexually transmitted disease education, counseling and education.

    Tobacco Prevention and Cessation

    Resources and support for tobacco prevention and cessation.

    Women, Infants, and Child (WIC) Program

    WIC provides nutrition education and "checks" to purchase nutritional foods designed to supplement the family food budget. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

    Sexual and Reproductive Health

    Women's services including birth control methods, emergency contraceptive pills, pregnancy testing, breast exams, pelvic and pap smear tests, abnormal pap smear treatment, Well Woman HealthCheck, counseling and education.
