    • Thornydale Road: Cortaro Farms Road to Camino del Norte

    Project Cost: $3,770,000
    Project Status: Completed
    Completion Date: Spring 2019
    Engineer/Contractor: HDR, Inc. / Southern Arizona Paving, Inc. and Construction Co.


    The Thornydale Road project improvements will include the following:  
    • The mill/overlay/widened Thornydale Road roadway from Cortaro Farms Road to directly north of Pecos Road will consist of a 3 lane section including 1- 12’ two way left turn lane, 1- 11’ travel lanes for north and south bound lanes and 6’ paved shoulder. The remainder of Thornydale Road to Camino del Norte will be repaved and will consist of 1 lane each for north and south bound travel;
    • Installing ADA ramp improvements at the intersections;
    • Restriping pavement;
    • All existing cross drainage patterns will be maintained and water will be allowed to flow over the road.
    • We intend to utilize existing right of way, plus planned donations, to the maximum degree possible.
