2018/2019 Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discounts (HLPDs) Eligibility Deadline is February 28, 2018

BeWell HLDP LogoDid you know that by taking simple steps like being tobacco-free, completing the on-line health assessment, completing a preventive exam, or participating in other healthy lifestyle activities you could save on your medical premiums?

To be eligible for each of the four 2018/2019 Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discounts (HLPDs), you need to complete the eligibility requirement for each discount by February 28, 2018 and certify that you are tobacco free during Annual Enrollment in the Spring (April/May). 12 Days of Wellness Challenge

12 Days of Wellness LogoFor most people, it can be a difficult time of year to keep one's health priority due to the many holiday activities going on, abundance of food and lack of physical activities. Back again this year, the 12 Days of Wellness Challenge starts December 2017. The program is designed to be a helpful tool you can use to keep yourself on track with your health. Participate in wellness activities from these four categories:
  • Fitness
  • Nutrition
  • Well-Being
  • Community Engagement

Wellness Program Activity of the Month: Free Tobacco Cessation Programs

Freedom from Tobacco.jpgIs your 2018 New Year’s resolution to become tobacco free? Pima County wants to help you succeed, so we’ve put together a list of FREE tobacco cessation counseling programs to help you succeed!

If you’re on the County’s medical plan, you can participate in Aetna’s Healthy Lifestyle Coaching (HLC) Tobacco Free Program. Participate in 20-minute weekly, telephonic one-on-one coaching sessions for up to one year and/or six, 30-minutes group sessions. The program also includes an optional 8-weeks of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT). Visit www.aetna.com or call 1-866-213-0153 to get started.

If you’re not on the County’s medical plan or if you want to try something different, you can try one of the other free tobacco cessation programs listed on our Tobacco Cessation webpage.

Put the tobacco habit behind you for good! After you are tobacco free for at least 3 months, you may be eligible for HLPD #1 – Tobacco Free.
