  • Camino de la Tierra/Rillito River Path Improvement Project

    Project Status: Under Construction
    Completion Date: Fall 2017
    Engineer/Contractor: Falcone Brother & Associates

Pima County Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation Authority along with their contractor, Falcone Brothers & Associates, will begin the construction of the Rillito River Path: Bike/Pedestrian Bridge over Camino de la Tierra project.

Construction will begin December 19, 2016. Improvements include a 12-foot wide bridge, built using recycled concrete girders from a previous local bridge replacement project. These will be placed along the route to elevate users above Camino de la Tierra. Connections at-grade to the existing trailhead and to bike lanes on Camino de la Tierra will remain in place for continuity with the bike routes in the neighborhood.

The project is located on the Rillito River Path portion of The Loop and is located near the connection to the Santa Cruz River Path. This is a highly utilized portion of The Loop and provides benefits to pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians for transportation, recreation health and other purposes.
