walk to schoolOn Monday, Sept. 19, the Pima County Department of Transportation and the Regional Transportation Authority started work on the "Mary Ann Cleveland Way Safe Routes to School Enhancement Project."

DOT and the RTA contracted with Southern Arizona Paving to construct a High Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) at Kush Canyon Way and new walking path along the north side of Mary Ann Cleveland Way, from Red Iron to Driscoll Mountain Drive. The eight-foot pathway will stretch for approximately 1.1 miles when completed in January 2017.

Before any construction work takes place, the contractor will mobilize equipment and install preservation fencing. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Minor delays may occur during this work. Motorists may wish to seek alternate routes. In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule may change.
