    The Pima County Department of Transportation (PCDOT) is beginning the design stages of the Valencia Road: Wade Road to Ajo Way improvement project. This project is part of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) program (1/2 cent sales tax) passed by the voters in May of 2006.

    The proposed improvements consist of widening the existing roadway in order to improve safety, reduce congestion, improve operations and increase mobility. Improvements will include additional travel lanes, raised landscaped median, bike lanes in each direction and a multi-use pathway for pedestrians.
