  • Final paving of Valencia Road: Mark to Wade starts Feb. 16

    road pavingOn Tuesday, Feb. 16, between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., the Pima County Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation Authority and their contractor, Achen Gardner, will begin final paving and striping of Valencia Road. The following paving activities are scheduled: 

    Tuesday, February 16 through Friday, February 19: Paving will take place on Valencia Road from Mark Road to Wade Road, with significant delays anticipated to occur at the intersections of Camino Verde and Wade Road. 

    Monday, February 22: Wade Road will be closed for final paving from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should use Camino Verde as an alternate route. 

    Tuesday, February 23: Camino Verde, north of Valencia will be closed for final paving from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should use Wade Road as an alternate route. 

    Project striping will follow shortly thereafter, with final thermoplastic striping anticipated to occur mid-March. 

    Sheriff’s deputies will be on site directing traffic through the work zone. Motorists can expect delays. 
    Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. 

    In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
