On Tuesday, October 6, Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, The Ashton Company, will detour traffic onto the newly paved Aerospace Parkway (Hughes Access Road).

Both east and west bound traffic will be detoured onto Aerospace Parkway while crews work on the new connection of Hughes Access Road and Aerospace Parkway.

The new signal light at the new intersection of Hughes Access Road and Aerospace Parkway will also be activated.

Message boards are in place to notify traffic of the change. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. The speed limit through the construction zone is 25 mph.

Scope of Work: The proposed project consists of realigning East Hughes Access Road approximately 2,500 feet south of its current alignment and renaming it Aerospace Parkway. Project improvements include one travel lane in each direction, paved shoulders for bicycle use, cross culverts for drainage, turn lanes, traffic signal, and intersection street lighting, signing, and striping.

In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule may change.
