2018 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report coverThe Pima County Finance and Risk Management Department recently earned North America's highest honor for governmental accounting and financial reporting. Last month, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recognized the Department with its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The GFOA selected Pima County Finance and Risk Management for the distinction based on its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018. It is the thirty-second time Pima County has received this prestigious award.

In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, the County had to publish an easily readable and efficiently organized CAFR that satisfied both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable program requirements.

“This certificate is a tribute to the County’s commitment to excellence and the talent, hard work and dedication of our staff.” Finance and Risk Management Director Michelle Campagne said.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is valid for a period of one year.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 19,000 government finance professionals in the nation.
