  • Sheriff's Department, TFD to hold car seat safety classes

    Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of unintentional deaths for children ages 1-19 years old. Making sure your car seat is properly installed is the first step in keeping kids safe. Carseat

    The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is dedicated to educating the public on proper car seat installation and use so these types of tragedies are prevented.

    The Sheriff’s Department will be assisting the Tucson Fire Department with car seat safety classes they are hosting this summer. The Tucson Fire Department will be presenting these classes at 300 S. Fire Central Place and the Sheriff’s Department will provide car seat technicians to help with seat installs.
    Classes are scheduled for:
    • 8 a.m., Saturday, June 29
    • 8 a.m., Saturday, July 27
    • 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 31
    The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting the registration for the car seat classes. Register by going to the EZEEReg.com website and searching for “car seat” on the main page.

    The Sheriff’s Department received funding for these events through grants awarded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety
