    Introducing the Active&Fit Direct™ Program

    The Active&Fit Direct program allows you to choose from 10,000+ participating fitness centers nationwide for $25 a month (plus a $25 enrollment fee and applicable taxes).

    The program offers:

    • Online directory maps and locator for fitness centers (available on any device)
    • The option to switch fitness centers to make sure you find the right fit
    • Online fitness tracking from a wide variety of popular wearable fitness devices, apps, and exercise equipment
    • An online, educational resource library
    • No long-term contracts

    The Active&Fit Direct program is offered through American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc., one of the nation’s leading fitness networks serving millions of members.

    How to Enroll
    Participants may enroll in the Active&Fit Direct program by accessing a custom link found on the Pima County HR Intranet webpage (must be logged into a Pima County computer), or in the Employee Self Service Portal (ADP) under Benefits News. The link will take the participant to the Active&Fit Direct website to enroll and obtain an ID card to present at contracted fitness centers.

    Participants must be 18 years of age, be located in the United States, and have a valid email address. Participants must pay by credit card and are charged in advance on a monthly basis using a recurring payment subscription. Participants commit to three consecutive months of membership. If a participant chooses to cancel after 3 months of membership, they must provide a 30-day notice of cancellation. All payments are subject to tax, if applicable, based on the participant’s location.

    The Active&Fit Direct program is provided by American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc., a subsidiary of American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH). Active&Fit Direct and the Active&Fit Direct logos are trademarks of ASH and used with permission herein.

    Annual Enrollment Fairs FY2019/20

    Please join us for our upcoming BeWell Annual Enrollment fairs. Representatives from the various plans and Human Resources staff will be available at the following Annual Enrollment Fairs to answer questions and provide information.

    BeWell Fair Schedule: April 30 – May 15

    Annual Enrollment runs April 29 – May 17 and is the only time that you may make changes to your benefits without a qualifying family status event. In addition you can:

    • Certify your tobacco-free status to continue receiving the $20.00 premium discount
    • Update beneficiary and personal contact information

    Here are some of the highlights for Fiscal Year 2019/20 employee benefits:

    • Short Term Disability: NEW - Pima County would like to introduce a new County-paid Short-term Disability benefit that will be administered by Lincoln Financial.
    • Medical Plan: Premiums are remaining the same and the County will continue to fund your Health Saving Account (HSA) if you qualify. NEW medical benefits added to plan.
    • Wellness Discounts Enhancements: NEW points based discount program.
    • Dental Plan: Employers Dental Services (EDS) premiums have a small increase.

    Changes will be effective July 1, 2019 and will be reflected in the July 12, 2019 paycheck.

In order to cover work hours utilized to attend, non-exempt employees may be required to use annual leave or comp time (in conjunction with their lunch break) or, with prior approval from their supervisor, may be permitted to flex their time during the same week.  Exempt employees are not required to use vacation time to attend.

    Last chance to certify your tobacco free status

    If you haven’t done so already, and you would like to earn 2019/20 Discount #1 – Be Tobacco Free ($20 per pay period), remember to certify your tobacco free status during Annual Enrollment which ends May 17, 2019. Even if you are not making any changes to your benefits, you will still need to certify you are tobacco free and complete the Annual Enrollment process in order to receive the discount starting the first paycheck of July 2019.

    Healthy Living: Managing Ongoing Health Conditions starts June 4

    Do you want to learn how to manage that condition so you can live a healthy life? Then this program is for you! This interactive program was developed by Stanford University and is facilitated by the Pima County Health Department to help adults gain the skills needed to manage ongoing health conditions. It can also help those that just want to make a healthy lifestyle change.

    The next 6-week series will be offered Tuesdays starting June 4, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Pima Community College 29th St. Coalition Center, 4355 E. Calle Aurora, Aurora Room #162. To get started, please contact Employee Wellness to register. Open to all employees and spouses/domestic partners. Space is limited.

    Earn 50 Healthy Lifestyle Activity Points for completing 4 out of 6 sessions*. Dinner will be provided.
