    NIGP ExcellencePima County Procurement Department is pleased to announce that once again, we have achieved the Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement (OA4) award from the Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP). The NIGP Accreditation program establishes a body of standards that procurement agencies should have in place for a solid purchasing operation. To achieve this Accreditation status, governmental agencies must demonstrate the required standards of performance every three years. Pima County Procurement responded to the rigorous challenge of a detailed application that required substantial documentation of our best practices, consistently receiving the award since 2005.

    While the NIGP membership represents over 3,000 governmental agencies throughout the United States and Canada, Pima County Procurement is only one of 144 agencies to have ever attained this distinction and one of only five agencies in Arizona to hold an active accreditation.

    Receiving the award and the achievement it represents brings credibility and formal recognition to the Procurement Department for our excellence in public procurement practice, and our dedicated and professional staff that strive for continuous improvement for the citizens of Pima County that we serve.
