    Court Appointed Community Service Program

    Pima Animal Care Center strives to maintain a safe working environment for our animals, staff and volunteers.

    Who can participate?

    Pima Animal Care Center’s Court Appointed Community Service program is provided for individuals who are completing community service for court or preemptive community service as recommended by legal counsel. You must be 18 years or older to participate.
    *** Youth between the ages of 12-17 can complete their service by providing and making enrichment items for our pets from home. Click here for our DIY Enrichment Packet and instructions. 

    How to get started?

    Set-up info sessions are held in the community meeting room at PACC the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of each month from 6pm-7pm. You must sign up here prior to attending. If you arrive late, you may be asked to leave and attend another session. At the set-up session, you will receive the rules and regulations packet as well as a volunteer waiver form. An individual cannot participate until this paperwork is turned in.

    What charges are accepted?

    ONLY misdemeanor offenses will be accepted, although PACC reserves the right to reject any request. Requests will be denied for cases involving, animal cruelty, child abuse, assault, sexual offenses, theft, or arson. If information regarding the individual’s offense is not made available to the Volunteer Coordinator, the request may be denied.

    What to bring?

    Please bring your picture ID as well as proof of your citation. This includes any paperwork that verifies the type of citation received, hours required and, if applicable, the contact information for the individual’s probation officer or other court designee must be provided prior to beginning the assignment

    What to expect?

    Duties may include cleaning animal rooms, washing dishes, folding laundry, sweeping and mopping, picking up litter, stocking, cleaning windows, and various other tasks as assigned. Scheduled shifts are set for Weekdays 12pm-4pm or 4pm-8pm and Weekends 6:30am-10:30am or 10:30am-2:30pm. These times are available seven days a week.
