The Water Safety Expo is from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include information on swim lessons, boating, bathtubs, monsoons, spas, CPR demonstrations, sun protection, drains, fencing, flood preparedness, rescue equipment, fire engines and more. The showing of the hit Disney movie “Finding Dory” begins at 7:15 p.m.

Priority movie seating goes to families who first visit the Water Expo. Bring a blanket for movie seating.

“Every child drowning is preventable, and August is a peak time for child drownings in Arizona,” Grant Bourguet, NRPR recreation program manager, said. “While we want everyone to continue to enjoy various aquatic opportunities from backyard swimming pools, to lakes and oceans, it is imperative that everyone learns the importance of safety in and around the water. You are helping save a life!”

Event co-sponsors include the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona, Kino Sports Complex, Drexel Heights Fire District, Pima County Parklands Foundation, 5th Avenue Productions, Cox Communications and La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery.
