File: family outside homePima County recognizes June as Home Ownership Month. With that in mind, homeowners and first-time homebuyers can meet housing experts and find a treasure trove of information about buying and keeping an affordable, sustainable, quality home. The Pima County Housing Center will host a Home Ownership Fair on Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 801 W. Congress St., in the heart of Menlo Park Neighborhood.

Non-profit housing counseling agencies, Realtors, mortgage lenders, and other housing professionals will be on hand to answer questions, provide current cost saving tips and help you prepare to purchase a home or, if you’re currently a homeowner, qualify for refinancing or a mortgage modification.

Presentations will cover topics including budgeting, credit repair and down payment assistance programs and even the latest in energy-saving techniques.

The day won't be all facts and figures; kids can meet Pima County’s McGruff the Crime Dog and Tucson Water’s Pete the Beak. Parents may enter a draw for prizes provided by our generous sponsors including Freddie Mac, the Community Investment Corporation and Manufactured Housing Industry of Arizona.

Refreshments will be available. Admission is free. Parking will be available at the Pima County Housing Center.

For more information, contact Marcos Ysmael, Affordable Housing Program Director, by phone, 520.724.2462 or email or for a summary of activities at the fair, check out the Housing Center's event flyer.
