  • DOT work continues on Houghton, La Cholla

    Beginning Wednesday, May 17 through Wednesday, June 7, the Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, Southern Arizona Paving, will pave the shoulders along Houghton Road from Sahuarita Road to Andrada Road.

    The following is the anticipated work schedule:
    May 17-May 26: Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., the contractor will mill and adding pavement to the shoulders of Pothole repairHoughton Road from Sahuarita Road to Andrada Road.
    May 30- June 7: Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., the contractor will pave the shoulders of Houghton Road from Sahuarita Road to Andrada Road.

    Motorists can expect two-way traffic with reduced speed. Sheriffs and flaggers will assist through the work zone. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Minor delays may occur during this work. In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.

    Beginning Thursday, May 18, through Thursday, June 1, DOT and their contractor, VSS International, will be performing a micro seal surface treatment on La Cholla Boulevard between Orange Grove Road and River Road.

    The following is the anticipated work schedule: 
    May 18- June 1: Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., the contractor will be performing a micro seal on the roadway. Motorists can expect lane restrictions and reduced speed. Sheriffs and flaggers will be assisting with the traffic through the work zone. Minor delays may occur during this work. 

    In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
