Housing ConstructionPima County has launched a new webpage with details on the upcoming Certificate of Coverage Program, designed to make it easier for many private developers to meet federal conservation rules come January 2017.

The County received the Endangered Species Act Section 10 permit back in July, when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved the Multi-species Conservation Plan (MSCP.) The Section 10 permit allows development projects that meet specific criteria to proceed without having to worry about the effect on protected plants and animals.

The new webpage provides basic, introductory information about the Certificate of Coverage Program, including details on eligibility requirements, benefits of participation and a detailed overview of the MSCP.

Visit www.pima.gov/S10PrivateLand for regular program updates over the next few months, ahead of the program’s launch in the New Year.
