    This completed the newest section of The Loop for which a grand opening for the public was held on May 2, 2015.

    The project includes over 400 acres of ecosystem restoration on both banks of the Santa Cruz River between Ajo Way and 29th Street (Silverlake Road), 2.7 miles of new 16’ asphalt paved pathway and 2.2 miles of 8’ decomposed granite pathways, two paved parking areas, a new restroom, an equestrian staging area, 1.4 miles linear feet of new soil cement erosion protection, 10,305 new trees, shrubs and cactus, 3 ramadas, and public art by Las Artes (Tucson), City High (Tucson) and Chevo Studios (Colorado). The project also includes Loop directional signage, interpretive signage and Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail (west bank) signage.
