Youth

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation facilities are not licensed childcare facilities under section 36-882 of A.R.S.  The school-age youth programs are “at will” drop in programs and youth enrolled in the programs may come and go of their own volition.

After-School Program

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation offers after-school recreation programs at several of its community centers. The program will run from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. at most locations.

The after-school program is for children ages 5-12. 5-year-olds must be enrolled in elementary school. Activities include homework help, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, and more. All participants must be registered in the program. Enrollment is limited. The program is free except for some special events. Days and times vary by center.

Summer Recreation

The summer recreation program offered June and July, is for children entering 1st through 6th grade in the 2019/2020 school year. Activities include indoor and outdoor recreation, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, guest speakers, field trips, environmental education and more. The program is free except for some special events. Please contact the community center for more information or for dates and times check our online registration.

Registration

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation has changed the registration process for all community center youth recreation programs. Families will need to create a profile in the Active Net system prior to registration. Register Now to launch Active Net. Space is limited for each program. No onsite registrations will be accepted.
