The Pima County Wireless Integrated Network Project encompassed two sub-projects that constructed regional public safety dispatch facilities.  Renovations at the City of Tucson Thomas Price Service Center were partially funded by Pima County General Obligation Bonds.  The facilities were expanded to meet current and future needs of the City and to provide the functional capability to backup operations from the Pima Emergency Communications & Operations Center (PECOC).  PECOC is home to the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for unincorporated Pima County and dispatch operations for the Sheriff’s Department and several fire districts.

Tenant improvements include furnishings and technology to support continuity of operations during emergency evacuation of the PECOC facility.

The project is being constructed in three phases.  In Phase I, vacant space was renovated to house Tucson Police Department operations.  In Phase II, tenant improvements are being made to house the Tucson Fire Department and the 9-1-1 PSAP.  In Phase III, final improvements will be made to administrative and training spaces.  Phase I is complete and Phase II is in progress.  The City of Tucson is scheduled to complete Phase III in December 2014.
